FTOPS IX, Event #12: Ben ‘bmf823′ Fineman Captures Short-handed Title
FTOPS IX Event #12 attracted a field of 1,405 players to the $1,000+60 six-max NLHE affair, generating a prize pool of $1,500,000 and a winner’s share of $300,000. With so much talent and skill in the field, there were several big names that did well but fell just short of the final two tables. Among them were Scott Clements in 27th place ($6,450), Steven “stevesbets” Jacobs in 19th place ($7,650), Dag Martin Mikkelsen in 16th place ($9,000), and Juan Carlos “PrtyPsux” Alvarado in 15th place ($11,250). Just missing out on the final table was Phil Gordon. As the short stack, Phil made a stand with pocket fives but they did not hold up against overcards, and Phil finished in seventh place earning $30,750.
FTOPS IX, Event #22 $2,500 NLHE: ‘hAAydon’ Tops in Three-way Chop
The tournament with the largest entry fee of FTOPS IX at Full Tilt was the two-day, deep-stacked NLHE Event #22, which attracted 942 players who each put up the $2,500+$120 buy-in. Notable finishers here included Tom “SBRounder” West in 16th place ($11,775.00), Luke “magikstick8″ Vrabel in 15th place ($16,485.00), and Wade “soggy dogg” Woelful in 11th place ($22,372.50). Just missing out on the final table was Full Tilt pro Erich Kollmann, finishing in 10th place, also earning $22,372.50. Online Poker Weekend: ‘Gunslinger3′ Draws Sunday Million Win
A great Sunday night for online poker continued with two major events at PokerStars, the weekly Sunday Million and Sunday Warm-Up tourneys. In a rarity, the Warm-Up failed to reach its guarantee and thereby offered a small bonus overlay to its participants, while the Sunday Million, as usual, had little problem making its numbers. “Gunslinger3″ and “GrtWhtHype”, respectively, captured the events to headline play at Stars on the night.

Online Poker Weekend: Sunday Million Goes to ‘ziggy47′
Daniel “ziggy47″ Bokesch pulled off one of the most unlikely final-table, “worst to first” runs in recent online memory to take down the weekend’s biggest event by total prize purse, the PokerStars Sunday Million. Elsewhere, the normal Full Tilt Sunday $750,000 Guaranteed went on a schedule hiatus for the duration of FTOPS IX, to be replaced by an exciting Event #10 finale (story here). And finally, Pass_72 pulled off a wire-to-wire victory in the Stars Sunday Warmup to finish off the night’s biggest online events.
